Civil litigation is the court’s process to resolve disputes between parties. A party can be a person, company, or an organization.
First, a lawsuit begins with the filing of a complaint that is brought to enforce, redress, or protect a private or public right, such as a breach of contract or retaliation.
The general goal of civil litigation is to compensate a person for his or her losses or injuries, in other words, to restore a person to the position he or she was in prior to the harm being done.
