How does the National Labor Relations Act protect my rights as an employee?

The National Labor Relations Act (NLRA) protects your right to organize, join unions, and engage in collective bargaining. You have the freedom to form or join a union to negotiate better wages, benefits, and working conditions. The NLRA also ensures that you can participate in union elections and bargain collectively with your employer.

Even if you are not in a union, you and your coworkers have the right to discuss workplace issues and advocate for improvements. Individual employees acting on behalf of group may also be protected . employers cannot interfere with or retaliate against employees for exercising these rights, and unions cannot force employees to join against their will. Additionally you have the right to refrain from union activities if you choose.
